Inspire Through Kindness

The Kind Campaign Brings Kindness To Campuses Across The Country – and the Greater Consciousness!

Kindness. According to some of our greatest thought leaders - Ghandi, The Dali Lama, and Plato to name a few - it can move mountains within your heart when both given and received. With a result like that, it seems we could all use a little more kindness in our lives. That’s why we went in search of a new leader in kindness to feature as Stemology’s inspiring person during the season of kindness; someone who is changing the world through bringing kindness home in ways that shape not only this moment, but future generations as well – and it seems, we found one – or two!

In 2009, students Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson recognized a problem and wanted to do something about it. Both women had been affected by female bullying and decided to create a documentary and start a nonprofit organization to shed light on girl-against-girl “crimes”. Little did they know, their organization would change the lives of thousands of individuals across America. This organization is now known as Kind Campaign.

Lauren Parsekian has been searching for a way to stop girl-against-girl “crime” since she was twelve years old. Like many girls, middle school was the hardest time for Lauren. A group of girl friends decided to turn on her and made her 7th and 8th grade experience a torturous one. She was afraid to go to school, hiding out on campus and her grades were dropping. It got so bad that she battled depression and in 7th grade tried to take her own life. Lauren knows all too well what it feels like to be bullied and feel alone. After finishing high school in Orange County, Lauren went onto attend Pepperdine University where she studied Film/Television Production.

Much like Lauren’s experiences, Molly Thompson also grew up experiencing the negativity of girl-against-grim “crimes”. Her bullying started in high school in Dallas, Texas. She was ostracized by a group of girls and feared answering the phone, going to school and just felt so lonely. Luckily for Molly, she had a small core group of loyal friends who stuck by her side, and helped her heal and forgive. After high school, Molly moved to California where she attended Pepperdine University to study Acting and Film/Television Production. She has always had a passion for helping others and is thrilled to be shedding light on such a serious issue.

The Kind Campaign works to inspire younger generations to treat each other with respect and kindness. By teaching them of the harm they can bring to others through their words and actions, the campaign encourages them to listen to one another and reflect on times that they could have been kinder to one another – so that they reach a state of empathy and compassion for others, which in turn changes the behavior

In the last five years, the organization has become an internationally recognized school program that is based on the powerful belief that KINDness brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl “crime”. Kind Campaign has toured to hundreds of schools, organizations and communities across the United States spreading their school assembly program paired with a documentary.

The documentary, Finding Kind, focuses on two young girls who travel across America with their mothers, interviewing females on the “mean girl” phenomenon. Throughout their journey, Lauren and Molly learn about themselves, how women interact with one another, and the influence that our culture has on the female gender.

Take a stand and join the movement towards more kindness, love and compassion in the lives of our daughters, nieces and granddaughters and all the females across the world.
