Stop Dry Skin Before It Starts This Season

With the seasonal dry weather quickly rolling in, we could all benefit from a hydrating approach that will help prevent the dry, dehydrated skin often associated with the drier months. The changing of the seasons can be uncomfortable, and even painful, for those with sensitive, dry or itchy skin. However, much like hydration within our body (remember the tip – if you are feeling thirsty, you are already dehydrated), our skin shows the same signs of hydration – if it’s dry and flaky, it’s already dehydrated. The time to take action is before your skin starts showing the symptoms of dehydration.

While you’re busying switching out your summer wardrobe for warmer clothing, make sure to also alter your skincare regimen. Get ready for the winter with this simple skin-hydrating “recipe”:

RECIPE FOR HYDRATED SKIN

Ingredients

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids (we recommend walnuts, flaxseed, fatty fish or supplements)
  • Water
  • Water-filled foods (your choice of raw fruits and vegetables)
  • Cell Refresh Hydrating Cleanser
  • Antioxidants (goji berries, blueberries)
  • Cell Renew Moisture Complete
  • A Humidifier
  • A thicker body lotion

Directions

Before the winter season begins, make sure to up your intake of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet to internally hydrate. This will increase your skin’s suppleness. Fatty fish like salmon and tuna, soaked walnuts and flaxseeds are all good sources of omega-3 fatty acids.

In between holiday shopping and family get-togethers, remember to also drink water – at least six to eight glasses a day. Also, munch on foods that contain high amounts of water.

Topically replenish your skin to combat the potentially damaging effects of the winter weather, including chilly winds, harsh heaters, fireplaces and hot baths that inevitably draw out the moisture from our skin.
